I last did a list along these lines near the end of 2009 so I thought I would make one for this year. This is your chance to judge me for all the time I have spent watching movies that you probably don’t approve of.

  • The Adjustment Bureau
  • Attack the Block
  • Beastly
  • Bad Teacher
  • Bridesmaids
  • Captain America: The First Avenger
  • The Change-Up
  • Friends With Benefits
  • Gnomeo & Juliet
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
  • Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil
  • Kung Fu Panda 2
  • I Am Number Four
  • Monte Carlo
  • No Strings Attached
  • Paul
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
  • Prom
  • Rango
  • Red Riding Hood
  • Rio
  • Rise of the Planet of the Apes
  • Super8
  • Thor
  • Transformers: Dark of the Moon
  • Winnie the Pooh
  • X-Men: First Class
  • Your Highness

So it’s been a while since I’ve blogged, pretty much a whole month has gone by without a post from me. I saw an idea that I liked on someone’s blog recently so I thought I would give it a try.

The basic premise is to look at the top 25 songs in iTunes and dedicate a blogpost to them, so here goes. Since 25 songs is a lot this will be in two parts.

  1. David Guetta – Turn Me On (feat. Nicki Minaj)
  2. Kelly Rowland – Lay It On Me (feat. Big Sean)
  3. Florence and the Machine – Spectrum
  4. Jessie J – Do It Like A Dude
  5. M.I.A. – XXXO
  6. Rihanna – We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris)
  7. David Guetta – Night Of Your Life (feat. Jennifer Hudson)
  8. David Guetta – Titanium (feat. Sia)
  9. Deadmau5 – Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff (feat. Rob Swire)
  10. Florence and the Machine – No Light, No Light
  11. Jessie J – Rainbow
  12. LMFAO – Champagne Showers (feat. Natalia Kills)
  13. M.I.A. – Born Free

Well that is part 1. Stay tuned for part 2 where you will have another chance to judge me on my music taste.

Strange to think that the last I blogged I was was less than two decades old. Yes this post did just take a bit of an “I’m getting older” tangent. I’m just to carry on being clichéd by saying that with age comes wisdom> I don’t really feel that I have gotten wiser over the years. Still make the same mistakes but what I do have is more life experience though I never really planned on that. Anyway I’m only really choosing to blog today because if I didn’t it would mean that I did not blog at all in September and we can’t have that now can we, not when I’m supposed to be resurrecting my blog or at least trying to.

So after four years my bipolar disorder decides that it wants to reach over and grab the steering wheel again. You have to give it some credit, it bided its time for about eighteen months, letting trigger-events pile up so it could finally send me over the edge once more. All in all I think I coped with it pretty well. Good practice for the future because I know that this isn’t the first episode I’ve had and certainly won’t be the last despite being on medication.

I won’t try to sway anyone who is not convinced by the  current format of 3D cinema that we have these days but it really has come a long way since the days of cardboard glasses with one blue and one red lens.

Personally I am a fan of the the new 3D technology as I believe that it is the future of cinema bringing a more engaged and immersed cinematic experience. Though at the same time I believe that there should be some guidelines as to what and what shouldn’t be made as 3D movies and how they should go about doing it.

I do support converting old movies into 3D, especially not cartoon animations as after seeing the trailer for the converted Lion King I felt that it just wasn’t as smooth and convincing as computer animated movies or live-action films that are either shot in or converted to 3D.

Also it produces a much better experience if the movie is actually shot in 3D rather than simply converted after the movie is filmed.

I know this across as a bit of a 3D stan post, then again I suppose that is true in part. My collection of 3D glasses from all the movies that I’ve been to see can vouch for that, maybe if I get the time I’ll take a picture of them.

I suppose all that’s left to do now is to list all the movies that I’ve seen in 3D in the order that I watched them, here goes nothing:

  • Beowulf
  • Journey to the Center of the Earth
  • Bolt
  • Coraline
  • Monsters vs. Aliens
  • The Final Destination
  • Avatar
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

Weird I thought I had seen more. Anyway I will continue to see movies in 3D, be it RealD or Digital 3D.

Sharing All

I just realized that I don’t have a friend that I can share absolutely everything with. There are just some things in my life that I’m too afraid to talk to anyone about. I thought I had a friend which I could share almost anything with. Boy was I wrong. Turns out it wasn’t even a real friendship, I should have seen that coming. I guess I was just living in the joy of having a friend. That golden bubble has long since burst and my eyes were opened to the lead of pretense. I guess I just need to find someone who I can share everything or as close to everything as possible.

Now that I’ve watched the movie I can’t help but feel a slight sense of disappointment. It should have been longer to contain the entire book. It did not portray the years that went by or the true effect of Abigail abandoning the family. The acting wasn’t the best either, when it came to Jack and Abigail. Where did Abigail and Len’s affair disappear to? The fact that Suzie was raped as well as murdered clearly was considered unsavoury but detracts from the key plot.

True Love

Is there such a thing as true love? I used to think so but my best example has recently come to an end. My uncle married his childhood sweetheart but now they’re getting a divorce. Seems they had lived by themselves for too long and couldn’t get used to living with each other, and other reasons most likely. With divorce being a common occurrence and serial-daters what evidence do we have that true love really exists.

Not too long ago I was introduced by a friend to a new way of categorizing people. No this isn’t about people’s dietary preferences but rather their personal preferences. Think outside the box and you will get it. Though the novelty of the terms are all very well I don’t think people should be defined by their preferences, we’re all human we just have different preferences.
